Operations Manager (Drilling) Vacancy

In our expanding market, we are seeking to appoint an Operations Manager (Drilling) who will be responsible for the whole-of-life management of services provided to clients, beginning when assigned to task at request for proposal issue and concluding after lessons learned.

This responsibility will encompass both project and programme management. The role may assume responsibility for specific countries or regions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

A summary of duties includes:

  • Assemble and manage high-performing teams
  • Execute all services utilising efficient, effective, and professional project management techniques to reliably meet all contractual requirements, milestones and budgeted safety, schedule, cost, quality, and financial targets.
  • Retain accountability and responsibility for all tactical and operational decisions and procedures.
  • Maintain an in-depth and current understanding of the finances of the project.
  • Initiate and maintain formal communication and governance structures both within allocated teams and across team member functional.
  • Ensure all financial decisions and approvals are managed and approved in accordance with operational budget constraints.
  • Implement internal project and programme quality systems.
  • Identify, monitor, and enforce internal project KPI’s.
  • Develop, maintain, and actively manage respectful and professional client relationships.
  • Mentor, coach, train and support the project team.
  • Provide support and training.
  • Implement a philosophy of continuous operational and personal improvement.
  • Model expected displays of leadership, management, and professional behaviour.
  • Conduct site visits with corporate and domestic clients.

About you

It is essential that you have an understanding of project management and supporting requirements including logistics, finance and human resources; experience and understanding of Drilling methodologies and general drilling operations; good communication, cultural understanding and interpersonal skills; the ability to meet tight deadlines; are able to adapt to harsh environments when needed and work calmly under pressure and with limited supervision.

You will have experience in operational and project planning and proven analytical skills; proven experience in drafting technical proposals, quotes or similar; a track record of establishing and maintaining effective professional relations with relevant stakeholders, in particular commercial clients, the UN and national authorities; a proven ability to manage project personnel remotely and experience with drafting and managing project budgets
