Mechanic (Heavy Goods / Plant) Vacancy
In our expanding market, we are seeking to appoint a Mechanic (heavy goods/plant) who will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of plant machinery, ensuring projects can be completed efficiently and safely.
This role will be based out of our Presteigne location and will require you to work outdoors in all weathers and away from home on occasion. There may be a requirement to work weekends and nights, occasionally.
Key tasks include:
- Fault finding/diagnosis and rectification
- Diagnose and repair various types of Agricultural / plant machinery
- Preventative and reactive maintenance
- Follow and implement maintenance plans
- Effectively communicate with operatives and managers to fault diagnose
- Testing and inspection of equipment
- Travel extensively throughout the UK, staying away as required
- Working outdoors in all weathers
- Working weekends and night may be required, occasionally
About you
It is essential that you have a relevant mechanical qualification or time served; are able to prioritise and think logically and methodically; are able to work well under pressure; have experience working with construction / Agricultural plant machinery and hold a full UK driving licence. It will be beneficial if you have an awareness of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems and a heavy goods licence, but not essential.
